ARK Chewable Pen Chewelry

ARK Chewable Pen Necklaces are a safe, discreet way for kids and adults to chew.  These necklaces are directly inspired from the community - one of the top requests since ARK introduced the Chewth Pick® years ago has been to create a wearable version. The Pens are about the same size as the Chewth Pick, but with different texture options for increasing sensory feedback: Smooth, Ribbed, and Bumpy.  The Smooth option is a go-to choice and offers the least amount of texture.  The Ribbed option provides additional sensory input through mild texture. And the Bumpy option (this listing) provides the most sensory input via raised bumps. Shop which texture intensity is the best fit for you.

Each pendant is just over 4” long, about .4” in diameter at the thicker end, and narrows down to about .3” at the grip end (with the very tip narrowing down further) – a nice slender size and great for reaching the back molars.

Like all other ARK chewelry, the Chewable Pens come in 3 color-coded toughness levels:

• Standard - This is the softest level, recommended for mild chewers (those who do not chew through anything).
• XT / Medium Firm - This is the middle level, which we call XT ("Xtra Tough").  It's firmer, but still fairly chewy, typically recommended for moderate chewers*
• XXT / Very Firm - This is the toughest level, which we call XXT ("Xtra Xtra Tough").  This is the toughest option in this shape, typically recommended for avid chewers*  

*Note: Even though the XT and XXT levels are firmer, the Chewable Pens are fairly slender.  As such, they are typically not the longest-lasting option for avid chewing.

• The cord measures approximately 36 inches in length.
• If desired, you can shorten the cord by scooting the thread out of the clasp, retying the knot at a shorter length, and then trimming the excess thread.
• Highly recommended for individuals who have Autism, sensory needs, anxiety, ADHD, etc, or for anyone of any age who needs to chew.
• Not recommended for aggressive chewing

Caution: This product is not a toy.  The clasp and cord are not intended for chewing.  Contains small parts that may pose a choking hazard - direct supervision required.  Recommended for children age 5 years and up.  Although these chew tools are sturdy and durable, no chew tool is indestructible.  Wear/tear may be expected given the nature of the intended use.  How long they last is typically equal to the amount and intensity of the chewing, as well as other variables (such as jaw strength, stress/anxiety levels, if other sensory strategies are in place, etc.).  While for some people a chew tool will last forever, for others with heavy/aggressive oral needs, they may go through it very quickly.  Please supervise at all times and replace if necessary if the item shows signs of wear and tear.  For the longest lasting chew tool overall, see ARK's Y-Chew XXT.
